It turns out the earlier of the rumored dates was right. The CapitalOne Venture Double Miles Challenge has gone live. If you’ve been following along, you have probably already decided whether or not this card is for you. Good luck to everyone who will be applying!
Also, it’s worth mentioning that there doesn’t appear to be a business card version of this promotion. So, anyone who got the personal card last time and was hoping to take advantage of the business card is out of luck. Capital One has recently rolled out their Spark series of Business Cards, so it doesn’t surprise me that there isn’t a business version of the Venture Card.
Some important things to know:
- Customers who participated in the 2011 “Match My Miles Challenge” may be approved for a Venture card, but are not eligible for the Double Miles Challenge program.
- This is a limited time offer. A maximum of one billion total Venture miles will be issued as part of the Double Miles Challenge program. The promotion will end when one billion miles have been given away or May 1, 2012, whichever comes first.
- Capital One will award 2 miles per dollar for up to $50,000 spent on purchases in 2011 on a single major US consumer travel credit card. Spend on small business cards, debit cards, fleet cards, private label credit cards, corporate cards, prepaid cards and Capital One credit cards is not eligible.
If you apply for this card, be sure to read the other T&Cs to make sure you document your spending correctly!

Disappointed after I found out that business cards do not qualify> My $51 Spend was on the Delta platinum Skymiles Business card.
Does your year-end statement explicitly show that it is a business card?
